International Expertise and Experience: GNS Management Board Reorganized

01.09.2025

Effective September 1, 2025, Dr. Jens Schröder has assumed the role of chair of the Management Board and CEO of GNS Gesellschaft für Nuklear-Service mbH. He succeeds Daniel Oehr, who, after five years at the helm of GNS, is moving to the management board of PreussenElektra GmbH. Dr. Jens Schröder has been with GNS since 2006 and has served as a member of the management board since 2011. The mechanical engineering PhD will continue to be responsible for the Nuclear Cask business area in his new role as CEO.

Already on July 1, 2025, Dr. Linus Bettermann joined the GNS management board and took over the corporate and commercial functions as the new CFO from Daniel Oehr. Dr. Bettermann joined GNS in 2011. Since 2021, he has served as Vice President Sales and Marketing and as an authorized signatory of GNS.

The GNS management team is completed by Dr. Martin Meyer ter Vehn, who joined GNS on September 1, 2024, as COO with responsibility for the Decommissioning & Disposal business segment.

The succession plan was presented already in May 2025 by Dr. Guido Knott, Chairman of the GNS Supervisory Board.

“We are pleased to have found an ideal internal solution for Daniel Oehr’s succession. Dr Jens Schröder has held leadership responsibility within GNS’s executive team for many years. He is deeply connected within the industry, with regulatory authorities, and with us as shareholders, and enjoys the highest level of trust from all stakeholders. We are delighted to have him now leading GNS.
Dr Linus Bettermann will take over as CFO and new member of the management board. As an experienced developer and successful sales leader and strategist, he is intimately familiar with GNS and has deep knowledge of its subsidiaries, customers, markets, and future opportunities. Linus will be an excellent addition to the management board, both professionally and personally.
At the same time, we are confident that this internal succession plan ensures maximum continuity in the successful transformation GNS has embarked upon, positioning the company strongly for the future. We wish both colleagues every success and a sure hand in their new roles!”
